Hearty Chili

Heat heavy bottom skillet on med high. Add bell pepper, onion, 1 clove of garlic and beef and cook for about 2-3 minutes.

Add beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink and browned about 8-10 minutes.

Add tomato sauce, 1 cup of water, spices, remaining garlic and celery. Lower heat and shimmer for 30-40 minutes. Garnish with cilantro and enjoy!


1 lb ground beef

1 Tbs olive oil

1 can black beans

1 carrot

1 stalk of celery

1 fresh tomato

1 cup low sodium tomato sauce

1 white onion chopped

1/4 red bell pepper cubed

5 cloves of garlic chopped

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tsp oregano

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp ground coriander seed

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 stevia

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

Cilantro for garnish (optional)

Fabulous Chili full of flavor! I use northern beans instead of black beans! Second time making, will be a regular staple!

Excellent and easy to make. Divide between 5 containers and freeze for a quick lunch or dinner during a hectic week. Recipe narrative doesn’t instruct use of all ingredients like the chopped tomato, black beans, and carrot but I just threw them in at the end and simmered altogether for 30 minutes.

Great chili! Super easy to make – I make on Sunday and divide between 5 containers and eat it for a lunch or dinner during the rest of the week.
